$475,000 Available for Arts Education Non-profits



The City of Austin Economic Development Department announces the launch of the Arts Education Relief Grant to support Austin’s diverse non-profit arts education providers. The program is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts – American Rescue Plan Act Grants to Local Arts Agencies for Subgranting – and will offer $25,000 grants to Austin’s diverse non-profit arts education providers.


What will the Grant Funds Cover?

Grant funds may be used to cover expenses such as salary support, stipends for artists and contractual personnel, facilities costs, personal protective equipment, and expenses related to marketing and promotion.


Applications Open Up When?

Applications for the Arts Education Relief Grant will open Tuesday, August 8 at 10 a.m. through Tuesday, September 12 at 5 p.m.


  • “Supporting Austin’s non-profit arts education providers is investing in our community’s cultural tapestry,” explains Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, Director of the Economic Development Department.

  • “The Arts Education Relief Grant will provide the much-needed boost to these vital organizations, fostering creativity, education, and inclusivity amongst students for a brighter, more inspired Austin.”

Eligible applicants must be a non-profit arts education provider with activities that primarily serve participants from early childhood through 18 years.

Application Assistance

The Economic Development Department and community amplifier MINDPOP offer various ways for the community to learn more about the Arts Education Relief Grant application process and eligibility.

  • Register to attend an Arts Education Relief Grant Workshop virtually

  • Attend Virtual Open Office Hours on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon until September 12

  • Attend Virtual Open Office Hours on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon until September 12
