Over the past 2 years, we have seen an increase in companies attempting to address diversity and inclusion within their respective companies and organizations across the United States. I came across an article by Jennifer Tardy published on December 14, 2021. She focused on 7 actions that must be normalized to increase diversity within companies and organizations. The actions are listed below:
Normalize saying, "I don't know what the hell I am doing!"
Normalize saying exactly what you mean.
Normalize identifying workplace policies, practices, and behaviors that drive underrepresentation.
Normalize sharing accountability.
Normalize sourcing in spaces that are overrepresented for untapped populations.
Normalize auditing personal networks for diversity.
Normalize calling people in.
