The Instructional Coach serves as part of the school’s Leadership Team and is responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with and supporting teachers and administration with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity. The Instructional Coach focuses on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-based effective instruction. This position also works as a mentor to the beginning teacher and as a data coach to assist schools with disaggregation of student achievement data from assessments to impact instruction. To meet this purpose, the Instructional Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Model lessons in classrooms daily/weekly.
Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers.
Create positive relationships with teachers, administrators and coaches.
Communicate and demonstrate research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance and improved classroom environment.
Communicate effectively with all members of the community.
Encourage professional growth and provide organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers.
Assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data and culturally responsive practices.
Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources.
Assist teachers in creating materials that are in alignment with curriculum.
Instruct and support teachers with curriculum software products, and classroom/curriculum related technologies.
Provide support in analyzing student assessment data.
Support, implement and assess various instructional programs and program effects on student achievement.
Develop coaching plans for teachers to ensure student improvement.
Provide mentor support to beginning teachers.
Participates in goal/plan setting and evaluation.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited institution.
Teaching Certification in Respective State
Minimum five (5) years teaching experience.
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Masters Degree in Educational Leadership or equivalent.
Previous academic coaching or teacher leadership experience
Minimum five (5) years experience.
