SUMMARY:
POSITION INFORMATION: The National Library of Medicine’s (NLM), National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is recruiting for a Staff Scientist 1 in the Information Engineering Branch (IEB) to analyze current user behavior and market conditions of online scientific resources such as PubMed (bibliographic database for biomedical literature), GenBank (genetic sequence database), and Gene (databases and tools for the study of genes). NLM is a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), part of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). NLM’s NCBI creates public databases, conducts research in computational biology, develops software tools for analyzing genome data, and disseminates biomedical information for the better understanding of molecular processes affecting human health and disease.
