Community Services Program Coordinator (Immigrant Affairs)

Pay: $24.82 - $32.26 an hour

Minimum Qualifications Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to Business Administration, Public Health/Human Services, Liberal Arts, or Social Work, plus two (2) years of experience in a field related to the job.

Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.

This position resides in the City of Austin’s Equity Office and will serve as liaison between the City of Austin, the immigrant and refugee community, immigrant stakeholder groups, community organizations, City departments, the Commission on Immigrant Affairs, and local, state and federal agencies. This position will:

Research and analyze the city’s currently available services to immigrants and refugees and identify gaps in service and coordination Research initiatives focused on legal rights and civic responsibilities to facilitate the integration of immigrants and refugees into the community Conduct a wide range of strategic research and provide data, statistics, or other information related to immigration work Conduct research on grant-making organizations and seeks out funding opportunities to enhance the City’s capacity to assist impacted communities Leverage the work of City departments, local nonprofits, and faith-based communities to develop a strong network of services and information Build relationships with other immigrant affairs offices nationwide, learning best practices from other established offices and implementing similar processes and programs
