Representation matters
And just like that, we are past the midpoint of January. We have moved through time, but too much has changed. We still live in a society where when it is announced a black woman is the first appointed to a board regarding the New York Stock Exchange. This is still common that these announcements has 1st in them. We should be far passed this but that is not reality at this point.
Then, I constantly hear, we play victim. That is not the case. We are trying to play fair in every way. However, all of these age old policies, racism still very much prevalent, and pure ignorance are holding us back.
We all have to get to a place of transparency, truth, and having and exhibiting emotional intelligence.
I'm not sure of everything that will get us there but I'm working on it. In the mean time, please send positive vibes to a woman who has broken a part of the glass ceiling and I hope continues to shatter it.
