Currently, our world is in a state of influx. We are in the middle of a pandemic. As a result, many people have lost their jobs, small businesses, etc. However, I do think we have to look for some state of normalcy and positive affirmations as we continue to move forward. I tend to listen to positive podcasts throughout the day to keep my mind occupied by positive words and items to focus on instead of watching the news throughout the day. I hope you have a positive outlet as well. I will be posting some of the podcasts I listen too in a later blog entry; however, this entry, I wanted to focus on some tips for job searching.
Additionally, I thought of some things to keep in mind if you are in the process of a job search currently. Please see below:
1. Check out your local unemployment office and get registered in their system so you can apply for jobs
2. Local grocery stores i.e. HEB, Kroger, Whole Foods, etc.
3. Instacart, UberEats, and DoorDash
I will provide more updates this weekend regarding Community Development Block Grant and Emergency Solutions Grant Funds. Some of the funding will affect various states in different ways based on how the state chooses to allocate the funds. It is important to keep in mind that these federal funds will be allocated to community agencies who will provide the services to citizens and/or funds to citizens in need.
